Appraiser Authentication
To earn a green "Sentry Shield" in the AppraisalWorld Directory, the appraiser must complete a rigorous three-step authentication process with EVS, a third-party company that is in the business of identifying individuals.
Once the appraiser is authenticated and has received his certification shield, AppraisalWorld continues to verify the appraiser’s information in real-time. Your green shield is a trusted sign that lenders and home owners know that you are who you say you are.
The 3-Step Authentication Process
Step 1: Appraiser completes online application to register with Sentry. Your data is provided is compared against credit bureau data in real-time, which can immediately report back any potential problems.
Step 2: The appraiser is asked a series of "Out of Pocket" questions, for which only he would know the answers. These questions can range from "How much was your mortgage payment last month?" to "What is your mother's maiden name?"
Step 3: If identity is authenticated, the appraiser submits their valid license in the third step.
Once these steps have been completed, the appraiser is authenticated and a green Sentry Shield will appear on their online business card in their AppraisalWorld Directory listing and in their Appraiser’s Portfolio.
